In Japan, hundreds of thousands of people are being evacuated as Typhoon Malakas has made landfall in the Wakayama Prefecture. The authorities have ordered more than 500,000 people to evacuate their homes in parts of western and southern parts of the country. More than 110 domestic flights have been cancelled, mainly to and from airports in the regions. Officials in neighboring Miyazaki Prefecture said, there are reports of flooding and damage.
