Though delayed, monsoon arrives with a bang in Mumbai

Although a week behind schedule, monsoon on Sunday arrived in Mumbai with a bang. Intermittent rains have been lashing the city since last night. Mumbai’s Met Department too has confirmed the arrival of the south-west monsoon.AIR correspondent reports, it was a pleasant weekend for Mumbaikars with the monsoon finally arriving in the city. Rain, accompanied by cool breeze and thunder in some places has been continuously lashing the city since last night, providing much relief from soaring temperatures. Mumbai Met department too has confirmed the arrival and onset of southwest monsoon in Mumbai. Till 7 PM Sunday evening, 31 mm of rainfall had been recorded in Colaba while 33.2 mm rainfall had been recorded at Santacruz weather station. Meanwhile, as per the forecast for the next 24 hours, intermittent rain is expected all over Mumbai while heavy rain may lash some parts of the city. Maximum temperature would be around 30 degree celsius while minimum temperature would be around 24 degree celsius. So, for Mumbai, it is finally time to take out those umbrellas and be prepared to face the rain.
