Those responsible for attacks on Indian students in Australia will not be spared : Rudd

The Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has said that he has conveyed to his Australian counterpart Kevin Rudd India's concern over safety and security of Indian students. He was talking to reporters in New Delhi after holding delegation level talks with the visiting dignitary. Earlier the Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd assured that full force of law will be used to punish those responsible for attacks on Indian Students in his country. Speaking at a luncheon meeting with the captains of industry in New Delhi today, he expressed disgust over the incidents and said that the Australian Law Enforcement agencies will ensure that such attacks won't happen again. Mr. Rudd said his government is committed to taking all possible steps to ensure security and safety of foreign students in his country. Referring to the nearly one lakh Indian students studyiong there, he said they are welcome guests in Australia. Hailing India's role in taking the lead in tackling global warming, Mr. Rudd made it clear that collaboration and partnership is essential to bring about results on sustainable development. He pledged investment around 70 million US dollars in India for research-enabling green technology to combat the climate challenge AIR correspondent reports that Mr. Rudd had busy schedule during the day.
