Thomas urges corporate sector to build responsible business practices

The minister of state for consumer affairs K V Thomas today urged the corporate sector to build responsible business practices as honest, ethical and caring businessman, so that a new brand of consumer friendly businesses can be created. Speaking at a conference in the capital, Mr. Thomas emphasized the need of resorting consumer centrism and government responsibility to see that consumer rights are protected. He said that it is time for government to work with industry partnership for consumer interest. The minister said that ethical business practices will have consumer attention and self-regulation will be the best way in this regard for the corporate sector. He said that government is making continuous efforts to establish trust in the idea of fair business and profit, which will help smooth working of economy.
