This season witnessed gracious monsoon, rather!

Over 77 per cent areas of the country have received excess or normal rainfall so far, this season. According to the Met Department, the rainfall has only been 1 per cent below normal for all regions except east and northeast India where the deficiency is 21 per cent. In August, the rainfall was 6 per cent above normal. The Met Department also predicted fairly widespread rain to continue in most parts of the country in the coming week with heavy rain expected in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana and the NCR. The weatherman expect the withdrawal of south west monsoon from Western Parts of Rajasthan to commence from middle of this month. Normally the south west monsoon starts withdrawing around first of September.
