Union Minister of Power, Veerappa Moily said that independent audit of protection systems of transmission grids would be carried out soon. He was speaking to reporters yesterday after his meeting in New Delhi, with the Chief ministers and representatives from various northern states and Chandigarh union territory. Mr. Moily said, the meeting has resolved that there would be third party audit of the protection systems for states' power grids within one month and the process would be monitored by regional power committees. He also said, the states have been asked to prepare long, medium and short term plans regarding procurement of power as well as demand management.
Mr. Moily said, all the states have resolved to adhere to the Indian Electricity Grid Code and take adequate measures for its effective implementation
