There won't be shortage of drugs in govt hospitals: Kejriwal

Delhi government has announced that there will be no shortage of medicines and consumables mentioned in the Essential Drug List in its hospitals from 1st of next month. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today held a meeting with the Medical Superintendent and Chief Medical Officers of the hospitals in this regard. <br/><br/>Briefing reporters, Mr Kejriwal said, that Central Purchase Authority has been authorised to purchase drugs and medicines in the hospitals. He said, all the hospitals have been asked to maintain three months reserved stock of drugs at all times and that further reserved stock of three months will also be maintained by the Central Purchase Authority. Mr Kejriwal also announced the launch of a helpline number from next month on which citizens would be able to report about the shortage any medicine in the hospital.
