Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu today said now there is a paradigm shift in decision making in Railways focussing only on real needs without keeping populism in mind. <br/><br/>Speaking at the 62nd annual Railway National Awards function at Naya Raipur, the new capital of Chhattisgarh, he said now there is no political interference in Railways, which is also getting full support of the political system. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi is extending full support to railways in its efforts to overcome the challenges. <br/><br/>The railway minister said with the fundamental change in the approach, the decisions are taken by the railway authorities themselves after identifying the needs and problems. The Minister also said with no political interference and no shortage of funds, it is the responsibility of railway personnel at all levels to give top priority to safety and punctuality of trains and to work with full accountability. <br/><br/>Railway minister presented the awards to 131 railway personnel from across the country for their outstanding services in their respective fields.
