The New Zealand Prime Minister, Mr. John Key today said that there was a need to further increase maritime cooperation between India and New Zealand. Speaking to reporters during his visit to the indigenously built Fast Attack Craft 'INS CANKARSO' in Mumbai today, Mr. Key said that there was a need for further collaboration between the two countries in defence and technology sectors. Vice Admiral D K Joshi, the Flag Officer, Commanding-in-Chief of the Western Naval Command received Mr. Key and the high level New Zealand delegates at the Naval Command.He informed the delegation about how INS CANKARSO, fitted with New Zealand made water Jet propulsion units, has played a significant role in apprehension of Somali pirates and other rescue operations.Earlier in the day, Mr. Key met the director duo, Abbas-Mustan and cast of their upcoming film 'Players’ at Filmcity. Mr. Key informed reporters that New Zealand has opened its doors for Bollywood with an eye on boosting tourism in the country. Later in the evening, the Prime Minister will call on the Maharashtra Governor, Mr. K Sankaranarayanan who would also host a dinner for him. Mr. Key will depart for Malaysia tomorrow morning.
