Finance Minister Arun Jaitley today said there is a need to build infrastructure for promotion of sports in the country. Speaking at a conference in New Delhi, Mr Jaitley said Centre and States, along with federations of various sports should together contribute for creation of infrastructure. He also emphasised the need to concentrate more on specific sports, which have the potential to bring medals for India.Addressing the gathering, Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs Sarbananda Sonowal said his Ministry is taking a number of initiatives to make India a world power in Sports, talent and infrastructure. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has laid emphasis on making youth an integral part of development process. Mr Sonowal said Sports Ministry would do its best to channelize sporting talent in Jammu and Kashmir and the North East.Ministers of Sports of different states were also present in the conference.
