The PM apologizes for tragic incident of 1984 anti- Sikh riots

The Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh apolozised for tragic incident of 1984 anti-Sikh riots. Addressing the Canadian MPs of Punjab origin in Toronto, the Prime Minister asked to move on to heal the wounds of the tragic incidents. He said that Sikhs in India are no longer restricted to Punjab but are actively participating in all spheres of public life referring to his own example. In 2005 during a discussion in the Parliament on the Nanavati Shah Commission reports on the anti-Sikh's riot, Dr. Singh intervened and apolozised to the nation and to the community for the violence.<br/>
