The number of UG medical seats increased by 75 percent and PG seats by 93 percent since 2014: Mansukh Mandaviya in RS

<span style="color: #222222;">The number of Under Graduate medical seats has increased by 75 percent and Post Graduate seats by 93 percent since 2014 in the country. This was stated by the Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today. He said, the number of UG seats has increased from 51 thousand 348 in 2014 to 89 thousand 875 seats in 2022. The number of PG seats has also increased from 31 thousand 185 seats to 60 thousand 202 seats.<br />''<br />''The Minister said, the Government has taken various steps to increase the number of seats in various medical institutes and colleges in the country. He said, 157 new medical colleges have been approved under the centrally sponsored scheme for the establishment of new medical colleges by upgrading district and referral hospitals. He said, 22 AIIMS have been approved and UG courses have started in 19 AIIMS.</span><br />
