The Netherlands has avenged it's defeat in the last World Cup final with a terrific 5-1 victory over defending champions Spain in the opening Group-B match of the FIFA World Cup at Salvador. With 2 goals each from Robin Van Persie and Arjen Robben and one from Stefan de Vrij, the Netherlands has maintained it's record of a triumph in a World Cup opener, while for Spain; it was their biggest defeat in 61 years. They had last suffered such a humiliating defeat in 1963, when they lost to Scotland, 6-2.In the other Group-B match, Chile defeated Australia, 3-1, while in Group-A, Mexico beat Cameroon, 1-0.Later tonight, Columbia will take on Greece, and Ivory Coast will clash with Japan in Pool-C. In Group-D, England will meet Italy, and Uruguay will play Costa Rica.
