Governments to remain on high alert on the eve of 17th anniversary of disputed structure demolition in Ayodhya. A statement issued in New Delhi by the Union Home Ministry said that some misdirected elements may distrub communal peace and harmony in the country. The state Governments have been advised to remain on high alert and security forces should be deployed for maintaining law and order in sensitive places. The government has appealed to all sections of the people to maintain communal peace and harmony as this year has been remarkably free of any communal conflict. In Ayodhya, disputed structure was demolished on 6th December, 1992 by saffron brigade which triggered communal clashes in the different parts of the country. In Delhi, security has been tightened at all the religious places and important establishments. Delhi Police have identified some sensitive places in the city and quick reaction team has been put on duty to keep watch on anti social elements. Video camera has been put up on the functions organised by some sections on this day to keep watch their activities.
