Jayanthi Natarajan, Minister of Environment and Forests said the scientists of the Institute of Forest Genetics and Tree Breeding (IFGTB) to make available the quality planting materials at the earliest. She further adds that a budgetary amount of 1 crore rupees will be allocated to this institute for this purpose. She also announced IFGTB Coimbatore as an ENVIAS (Environmental Information System) on the subject of Forest Genetic Resources and Tree Improvement.

Later while talking to media persons the Minister said that we will be able to achieve the 33 percent forestation in the near future targeted in the Green India Project.
