Thailand PM arrives in New Delhi on three day visit to India

Thailand Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-O-Cha arrived in New Delhi this evening on a three day visit to India with a high level delegation. He will be accorded ceremonial reception tomorrow morning at the forecourts of Rashtrapati Bhawan. <br/><br/>Later, Prime Minister Prayut Chan-O-Cha and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi will hold restricted and delegation level talks which will be followed by press statements by the two leaders. During the talks, the two Prime Ministers will discuss range of issues including defence, security, Science and Technology and improving people-to-people contacts.<br/><br/>Trade and attracting investments from Thailand will be high on the agenda. India will also seek Thai participation in its Make-in-India initiative. During his stay, General Prayut Chan-o-Cha will meet Indian businessmen. The visiting dignitary will also call on Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari. <br/><br/>Bilateral trade in the last 15 years has actually grown eight times and currently it is 7.93 billion dollars. <br/><br/>India's export to Thailand is worth about 2.63 billion dollars and India's imports amount to nearly 5.3 billion dollars.<br/><br/>Tourism has been an important element in building closer people-to-people contacts. About 10 lakh Indian tourists visit Thailand every year while about a lakh tourists arrive from Thailand to India.
