Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi have made a shock first-round exit from Thailand Open tennis tournament. In the 5,51,000 U.S. dollar hard court event at Bangkok today, the top-seeded duo lost to unseeded Germany's pair of Daniel Brands and Croatia's Ivan Dodig 6-7, 7-6, 4-10. It is the only ATP tournament Paes and Bhupathi played together ahead of the Commonwealth Games.Having won gold medals at the last two editions of the Asian Games, Paes and Bhupathi will be the hot favourite pair when tennis makes its debut at the Commonwealth Games. The tennis event will begin on October 4 and conclude on October 10.
