Thailand today revoked a state of emergency in three north-eastern provinces but not in Bangkok, where there have been a series of minor blasts in recent weeks. Spokesman Panitan Wattanayagorn said the Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva signed the order to lift the emergency powers in Nakhon Ratchasima, Khon Kaen and Udon Thani. The decree was introduced in the capital in early April in response to mass anti-government rallies. Ninety-one people were killed in clashes between protesters and the army. The emergency law remains in place in Bangkok and nearby, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani and Samut Prakan.
