Red-shirted protesters in Bangkok say, they will push on with their demand for early elections, a day after Thailand's worst day of violence in many years. At least 19 people, both civilians and soldiers, are known to have died yesterday. The troops shot into the crowds but the government insists that only rubber bullets were fired. The army then pulled back in haste abandoning military vehicles in its wake. A spokesman for the protesters said that it was time for the Prime Minister to step down. Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva has offered his condolences over the deaths but refused to resign. <br/>
