Thai Poosam is being celebrated today by Tamils with traditional gaiety and fervor at Murugan temples all over the world. The occasion falls during the full moon day of the month of Thai.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;"> In Palani, at Sri Dhandayuthapani temple one of the Arupadai Veedu of Murugan, a ten-day festival is held during this month with the hoisting of flag. The State Government has declared a holiday for the first time this year. Devotees with fasting for days together also perform the Kavadi Attam and carry milk pots in their heads at Murugan temples on this day.</span><br />
