Thai PM agrees to negotiate with anti-gov't leaders?

In Thailand, Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjejiva has accepted to negotiate with four anti-government core leaders, but the negotiation should be organized under a good atmosphere. Minister to the Prime Minister's Office Satit Wongnongtaey on Sunday said, the premier has accepted to negotiate with the red-shirted leaders in a bid to bring peace back to the country and for the national interest. In a related development, red-shirted core leaders said they have agreed to enter the peace negotiation with the prime minister, which will be preliminarily held at King Prajadhipok's Institute.Meanwhile, the Thai military is withdrawing its forces from parts of the country's capital to avoid potential confrontations with red-shirted anti-government protesters backing the ousted prime minister. The announcement came as an estimated 80,000 protesters held a demonstration in Bangkok yesterday, the latest mass rally staged by supporters of former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra. They demand incumbent Abhisit Vejjajiva's government holds new elections.
