Thai Grand Prix: Indian men advance; defending champ Saina begins campaign today

Six Indian shutters today advanced to the Men's Singles second round of the Thailand Open Grand Prix Gold Badminton tournament in Bangkok. Ajay Jayaram, Sourabh Verma, Anand Pawar, Srikanth K., Sai Praneeth and HS Prannoy defeated their opponents in the opening round and advanced to the next stage. They will play their second round matches today itself.London Olympics Bronze medalist Saina Nehwal, who has been given a top billing in the tournament, will play her first round match against Shih Han Hung of Chinese Taipei today. Arundhati Pantawane and Thulasi PC will also be seen in action in the Women's Singles category today.
