Thai government imposes night curfew in capital Bangkok and 23 provinces

Thailand Government has clamped nighttime curfew in capital Bangkok and 23 other provinces. The Army stormed a barricaded protest camp of the Red Shirts, with the protesters setting fire to around 20 buildings, a TV station and the stock exchange in the capital.<br/><br/>Five people were killed onWednesday, including an Italian journalist in the army crackdown, taking the toll to 60 in the recent anti-government protest. Three other foreign journalists and scores of Thais have been injured in the violence.<br/><br/>Demonstrators reportedly attacked government buildings in the north-east of the country and in the northern city of Changmai was also tense. <br/><br/>At least 27 buildings were set ablaze after the red-shirt leaders' surrender and pockets of resistance remained despite pleas from leaders to go home.<br/><br/>Some 40 people have died since troops ringed the protesters last week, with at least six more deaths on Wednesday. <br/><br/>Fires were reported at the stock exchange, banks and a shopping mall. A huge blaze engulfed Central World, one of South-East Asia's biggest shopping centers. <br/>
