Thai chopper crash: 60 soldiers despatched for rescue operation

Thai military on Wednesday despatched sixty soldiers to the jungle along Thai-Myanmar border for rescue operation of its crashed Black Hawk assault helicopter and nine victims. According to the latest report, the crashed chopper was located in Malit, Myanmar, one kilometer away from Thai border. However, the fate of the nine crews on board remains unknown. The helicopter lost contact with the control tower and crashed before noon on Tuesday after taking off some 20 minutes. The mishap occurred while the Black Hawk copter was on its mission to retrieve the bodies of five soldiers who were killed in a helicopter crash on Saturday in western Phetchaburi province on the Myanmar border.
