Thai, Cambodian soldiers exchanging fire for 7th consecutive day

Thai and Cambodian soldiers have been exchanging fire for the seventh consecutive day in a continuing border dispute. Both sides are using heavy weapons and blame each other for starting the conflict. The Thai and Cambodian Prime Ministers will attend a regional summit next month and have indicated that they will raise the issue there. Meanwhile, Cambodian and Thai military commanders held a 40-minute meeting this morning and promised a ceasefire. The meeting was held at the O'smach border checkpoint in Oddar Meanchey province. Both agreed to an unconditional ceasefire and to meet regularly to ease tension.
