On the occasion of Good Governance Day, Ministry of Textiles today launched JUTE-SMART' an online portal in New Delhi to facilitate purchase of Jute bags from the Jute industry by the state procurement agencies. <br/><br/>Speaking on the occasion, Textiles Minister Smriti Irani said, the portal seeks to provide an integrated platform for use by all the stakeholders to allow easy access to information, more transparency and ease of doing business for the jute sector. <br/><br/>Irani said, government will also establish Bunkar Mitra -Handloom Helpline Centre where professional queries of weavers will be answered by the experts in the field. This helpline will function from 10.00 AM to 6 PM and initially it will be provided in 7 languages. These are Hindi, English, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada Bengali and Assamese.
