Textile sector significant source of employment in India: Rajasthan CM Raje

Chief Minister Vasundhra Raje said that after agriculture, textile is the most significant employer in the country. While inaugurating Fourth International Textile and Apparel Fair- Vastra -2015 in Jaipur today she said most of those engaged in the textile industry are women. She reiterated that in the next few years the Government of Rajasthan will create 15 lakhs jobs of which many will be in the textile discipline. Among the many strengths of Rajasthan, textiles is one of them and is recognized as one of the most important thrust sectors of the State. <br/>On this occasion, the Union Minister of State for Textile Santosh Kumar Gangwar said that in terms of exports and creations of jobs, textile sector was a very important discipline in India. He said that textile sector would play a significant role in the field of skill development as was envisaged by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Mr Gangwar said centre has been providing an assistance of Rs 40 crore for each Scheme of Integrated Textile Parks.<br/><br/> On this occasion the High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam, Dato Paduka Sidek; Ambassador of Poland, Tomasz Lukaszuk and Ambassador of S.R. of Vietnam , Ton Sinh Than were also present.
