Union Minister for Road Transport, Highways and Shipping Mr. Nitin Gadkari has asserted that the textile industry has a pivotal role to play in development of the backward region like Vidarbha and called for quantitative and qualitative improvement in the sector for the speedy development.He was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the 12th International and 70th All India Textile Conference being held in Nagpur on Saturday.Dwelling upon various problems being faced by the cotton growers, the Minister said that the Agriculture Universities and institutes of higher learning should have constant fruitful interaction for innovation and adoption of updated technology for the betterment of industry.
