Union Minister for Textiles, K. Sambasiva Rao has said the country is facing current account deficit as its exports are less than imports. He said textile department has lot of potential to earn foreign exchange.He said the total earning from export of textiles was 33 billion dollars, last year. Now the target has been set to earn 43.5 billion dollars during current financial year.Addressing a press conference along with the Union Minister for Informatiion & Broadcasting, Manish Tewari in Ludhiana on Wednesday, the Textiles Minister declared to open a National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in Ludhiana.He said Centre would provide funds for training people as skilled workers as well for training the trainers also. He categorically said that no nation can progress if its citizens are not skilled in any spehere.
