A fierce encounter is going on between holed up terrorists and security forces in a south Kashmir village since Friday night. Official sources said acting on a tip-off about the presence of ultras, security forces launched a search operation in a village in Pulwama district. When the security forces were sealing the particular area, the terrorists opened fire with automatic weapons. Security forces also returned the fire.The sources said reinforcement rushed from near by camps to further tighten the cordon. However, the operation was stopped due to darkness.With the first light, security forces tried to enter the house in which the terrorists are hiding. They again opened fire on security forces. The intermittent firing was going on when reports last came in.
