Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that diversity of India is its identity as well as its strength. Taking part in Ugadi celebrations at the residence of Information and Broadcasting Minister M Venkaiah Naidu in New Delhi yesterday, Mr Modi emphasized that the festival is a reflection of the changing facets of Nature and linked to culture and traditions. <br/><br/>The Prime Minister called upon the States collaborate with each other thereby promoting uniqueness of their respective cultures and traditions in different regions.<br/><br/>Mr Modi also said that terrorism has thrown a big challenge to humanity and the entire world is in its grip. He said people should draw inspiration from ancient scriptures to take on the menace. Citing the Jatayu episode in Ramayana, Mr Modi said, Jatayu was the first to fight against terrorism.<br/><br/>Addressing the gathering, Information and Broadcasting Minister M Venkaiah Naidu said that Ugadi is the beginning of New Year as per Indian calendar and celebrated across the country on different days in the month. <br/><br/>Ugadi which heralds the arrival of spring and warmer weather signifies the start of a new year in many parts of South India.
