Terror infrastructure thrive on Pakistani soil: Antony

India has said terror infrastructure continues to thrive on Pakistani soil. Addressing the 12th Asian Security Conference in the Capital today, the Defence Minister Mr. A.K. Antony said that New Delhi is firm with the demand that Islamabad must put an end to terror activities emanating from its soil.

He said, India-Pak relations always have a huge bearing for regional peace and security and New Delhi's willingness to resume negotiations with Pakistan must be seen in this backdrop. The Defence Minister said that India's neighbours, particularly, Pakistan and Afghanistan are home to terror organisations like Lashkar-e- Toyba and Al Qaeda which poses threat to the entire world.

He said, the people of Pakistan and Afghanistan too are the victims of these organisations. Unless the real support base of these outfits is cracked down and dismantled, their activities will continue to pose a serious threat. Mr. Antony said that this year the infiltration across the LoC with Pakisitan has increased, however, this is not going to affect the Foreign Secretary level talks.

On resuming dialogue with Pakistan, the Minister said that though the government is not fully satisfied with the action taken by Pakistan, it is the considered decision to support negotiations with Pakistan to allow peace in the region.
