Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award announced

The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports on Friday announced the Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award for the year 2010. According to an official release, this award will be given to four people for their achievements in the field of adventure. Reena Kaushal Dharmshaktu and Mamta Sodha were selected for the award for land adventure while Dilip Donde for water adventure. Col Balwant Singh Sandhu has been selected for life time achievement award posthumously. Ms Dharmshaktu has became the first Indian women to ski 900 Km from coast of Antarctica to the South Pole. The awards will be presented by the President Mrs. Pratibha Devisingh Patil on 29th of this month.
