Aam Aadmi Party, AAP, is holding a crucial meeting today to discuss Congress' response to 16 of its 18 pre-conditions for receiving support to form government in Delhi. The meeting comes close on the heels of Lt Governor Najeeb Jung recommending President's Rule in the city as no party is willing to stake claim for government formation. The meet also assumes significance because technically, the tenure of the current Assembly ends today, necessitating constitution of a new one which appears unlikely due to the continuing logjam.
Our Correspondent reports, the Lieutenant Governor also recommended keeping the new Assembly in suspended animation. In his report to the President, Mr Jung listed various options before the Centre to end the political impasse. BJP with 31 MLAs and AAP with 28 are unable to form government as they lack majority in the 70-member Assembly
