Tension prevails on Israel Gaza border as three mortar rounds were fired from Gaza this morning in to southern Israel. No injuries were reported, but radio stations reported that electricity was disrupted by the mortar fire. Meanwhile, Israel says it is ready to stop firing on Palestinian militants if they in turn stop attacking Israeli communities. The Defence Minister Ehud Barak made the cease-fire offer on Israeli public radio saying such a scenario would be quiet and good. Sources say that HAMAS' political wing is trying to agree a ceasefire. Israel is adamant that all rocket and mortars fire must stop regardless of which militant group is responsible
