Army Chief Gen Dalbir Singh today said that tension along Sino-India border has come down and both sides are coordinating with each other well. Addressing the Army Day function in New Delhi today, General Singh said, infiltration in the western side of the border has also decreased. <br/><br/>He said, Indian Army is fully prepared to tackle any kind of security challenge. General Singh lauded the efforts of the armed forces in rescue and relief operations during the Chennai floods and Nepal earthquake. He said a veteran directorate has been established to address the grievances of army veterans.<br/> <br/>Earlier in the three service chiefs paid homage to martyrs at the Amar Jawan Jyoti. On the occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi saluted the indomitable valour, determination and dedication of the Army.<br/><br/>Congress President Sonia Gandhi has extended her salutations to the valiant soldiers of the country on the occasion of Army Day. Paying tributes to those who sacrificed their lives to protect the nation and secure its sovereignty, Mrs Gandhi said the Indian Army has established glorious traditions of valour and selflessness. She said the entire nation is proud of the Army Jawans and officers.
