Ten political parties in Assam have appealed to all people from the state and the northeast living outside the region not to panic on account of rumours. They also appealed to all those people, who have already come back from other states to return to their place of work or study. Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi also said the Centre and chief ministers of other states had assured him of safety of northeastern people staying in their states.Meanwhile, State Law and Order IGP LR Bishnoi said suspected militants shot dead one person under Salakati police outpost in Kokrajhar. Security has been tightened in and around Salakati area after the incident. Bishnoi said around 200 miscreants had been arrested so far for indulging in violent activities.Fifteen columns of army is holding flag march in the violence-hit areas. A strict vigil is also being maintained by the Assam Police and Para-military forces. Day curfew relaxed in Kokrajhar, Chirang, Dhubri, Baksa and Rangia revenue circle in Kamrup district for 8 to 14 hours.
