United Nations refugee agency reports, tens of thousands of Somalis, displaced by drought and famine are fleeing to Mogadishu in desperate search for food, water, shelter and other assistance. The UNHCR says, more than one hundred thousand people have arrived in the conflict-ridden capital over the past two months. The UN refugee agency says, the number of refugees is continuing to grow with an average of one thousand converging on the city every day. UNHCR spokeswoman said, women and children are bearing brunt of the emergency. Meanwhile, the UN World Food Programme says, an airlift of food to the drought-stricken Horn of Africa has been postponed until at least Wednesday because of logistical problems in Kenya. WFP said, the planes will carry food to Somalia's capital, Mogadishu, eastern Ethiopia and Northern Kenya near the Somali border.
