In the semifinals played on Friday, Serena routed world number one Victoria Azarenka 6-1, 6-2 while Sharapova defeated her Russian compatriot Maria Kirilenko 6-2, 6-3. The Men's Singles final will see a rematch of this year's Wimbledon final with Roger Federer taking on Andy Murray of Britain. In the semifinal on Friday, Federer fought through the longest three-set singles match in the Open era when he beat Argentina's Juan Martin del Potro 3-6, 7-6, 19-17. In the other semifinal, Murray defeated Novak Djokovic of Serbia in straight sets 7-5, 7-5.
