The top seeded pair of Sania Mirza and Cara Black has stormed into the Women's Doubles semifinals of the Portugal Open tennis tournament. In the quarter final match played at Oeiras, Portugal, yesterday. The Indo-Zimbabwean pair defeated the Spanish-Chinese duo of Silvia Soler-Espinosa and Shuai Zhang in straight sets of 6-3, 6-4. Sania and Cara's pair will now play against the third seeded American duo of Liezel Huber and Lisa Raymond at at 8:30 PM Indian Time today. Meanwhile, in the Men's Doubles of the Portugal open, the Indian pair of Divij Sharan and Purav Raja bowed out in the quarter finals late last evening. The Indian pair was defeated by the top seeded pair of Pablo Cuevas from Argentina and David Marrero of Spain 2-6, 2-6.In the men's singles, India's Somdev Devvarman went down against top seed Tomas Berdych in the round of 16. Somdev lost in staight sets 3-6, 2-6.
