Speaking to media persons,Union Minister of Human Resource Development, Kapil Sibal after laying the foundation stone for the Federal Institute of Science and Technology at Mookkannur in Ernakulam district, Kerala, said that cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has been asked to make a presentation on making sports compulsory in the curriculum. He said this will be looked into by CBSE and NCERT.Union Minister of Human Resources Development Kapil Sibal today said the union government is committed to ensuring that the virtual infrastructure in the country is completed as soon as possible.Laying the foundation stone for the Federal Institute of Science and Technology at Mookkannur in Ernakulam district, Kapil Sibal said 2,50,000 gram panchayats in the the country will be connected through a national fiber optic network and the last mile connectivity will be done through wireless broadband. He noted that virtual infrastructure is as important as physical infrastructure.He said the third version of the Akash tablet will have sim card factility and expressed hope that every child in the country will have the tablet at a cost of 1500 rupees within the next five to seven years.Later
