A self-confessed tennis buff, Sachin Tendulkar was among a host of sports stars, including former West Indian cricket captain Brian Lara, who packed the royal box on Centre Court at Wimbledon yesterday. Tendulkar was flanked by his wife Anjali and Lara whilewatching the women's defending champion Serena Williams defeat Dominika Cibulkova and 2008 men's champion Rafael Nadal take on Philipp Petzschner. Other legendary sports persons who graced the royal box included England football greats Bobby Charlton and Glenn Hoddle, former Wimbledon champions Martina Navratilova and Neale Fraser and a host of British Olympic gold medallists.
