In Chhattisgarh, about 12 and a half lakh Tendu leaf pluckers will receive bonus amounting to about 137 crore rupees on Sunday. The bonus will be distributed across the state through special distribution camps. The Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh will be inaugurating the state-level bonus distribution programme in Bhanupratappur in the Kanker district.The bonus will be paid to the tendu leaf pluckers in addition to the wage of about 108 crore rupees that has already been paid to them during last summer. The state government had procured 45 thousand standard bags of tendu leaf during last year. According to the policy of the state government, it distributes 80 per cent of the net profit earned out of the tendu leaf transactions to the tendu leaf pluckers in the state.
