Ten soldiers of Indian Army have qualified for Rio Olympics 2016. Naib Subedar Jitu Rai has won the quota for shooting in 50 meter Air Pistol. The JCO is being trained in Army Marksmanship Unit, Mhow. He is from Gurkha Regiment. The other qualifiers include Subedar Gurpreet Singh, Naib Subedar Chain Singh and Havaldars Sandeep Singh, Nitender Singh and Kheta Ram.Army spokesperson said in New Delhi that Indian Army has laid out the road map for a concerted vision for maximum qualifications for the Rio Olympics with the aim of finishing strong at the podium with medals for the country. The training of the qualified sportspersons is being carried out in scientific manner and executed through Army Sports Institute, Pune and AMU, Mhow.
