He breathed his last in KIMS hospital, Secunderabad. Born on 25th May 1955 at Anakapalle in Visakhapatnam District, the lyricist received at least 11 State Nandi Awards and Four Film Fare Awards for his contribution to the entertainment world. He was awarded with Padma Shri for his contribution to the field of arts and aesthetics.</span><br />
