In Andhra Pradesh, the Singareni Workers’ unions and Telangana Teachers have decided to temporarily put off their ongoing strike and agreed to join duties today. In separate meetings held with Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy yesterday, leaders of the Telangana Teachers Joint Action Committee and Singareni Workers JAC announced this in Hyderabad . They are taking part in the General Strike for Statehood for Telangana for the past 34 days. Telangana Political JAC Chairman Prof Kodandaram said they have temporarily pulled off from the strike to protect the interests of workers and students in the region.Earlier in the day leaders of various unions have held a series of talks with the Singareni management. With this, a work force of about 60 thousand will join duties in the Singareni Collieries in four districts of Telangana today. Similarly, about 1.5 lakh teachers will be attending classes from today. All educational institutions including professional colleges which were closed since September 13th due to the General Strike are set to reopen in Telangana region today.However, the ongoing General Strike by the State Government Employees JAC has entered 35th day today
