Telengana strike enters 14th day

In Andhra Pradesh, the ongoing general strike by government employees, mining workers and teachers demanding statehood for Telangana is continuing for the 14th day on Monday even as the trains have been restored in the region after the two day rail-roko agitation held by the Telangana Joint Action Committee. The Road Transport Corporation employees continue their strike on Monday as the talks held by the management, failed. However, commuters have got some respite as the auto-rickshaws began plying in Hyderabad.Meanwhile, more groups are joining the strike in support to the agitation for statehood. The Government Drivers Associations have started boycotting duties. The small industries in the region also remained closed on Monday.
