Telengana Political Joint Action Committee calls for indefinite strike

Andhra Pradesh government has appealed its employees in Telengana region not to go ahead with their proposed indefinite strike from Tuesday on the statehood issue. The government said, it will invoke ESMA and “No Work No Pay” rule against striking employees, if necessary. It urged the employees to give up their stir as the statehood demand is already under the examination of the central government.

Chief Minister N.Kiran Kumar Reddy held a review meeting with the Cabinet Sub-Committee on Employees Issues on Monday. Later, the sub-committee members appealed to the employees to give up their proposed agitation and hinted about the government’s move to take action against them if they go ahead.

The Telengana Political Joint Action Committee gave the call for indefinite strike in the Telengana region. The Telengana Rashtra Samithi said it will extend full support to the agitation.
