Telengana leader K.C. Rao enters 11th of fast unto death

In Andhra Pradesh, the fasting Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) President K Chandrasekhara Rao has become weaker. He is on fast unto death for the last 11 days demanding separate Telangana state. Though he has not conceded to call off his fast, he started cooperating with the doctors since last night for being administered IV fluids. The team of doctors at the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences has said the TRS President was showing signs of protein malnutrition and advised him to break his fast immediately to avoid any long-term complications.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent M.S. Lakshmi reports from Hyderabad that despite the best efforts made by political leaders across the party lines to persuade TRS President Chandrasekhara Rao to call off his stir, he has today entered 11th day of his fast unto death.<br/> <br/>Meanwhile, different views are emerging from various groups in the congress party to tackle the situation even as the demand for United Andhra Pradesh is gaining momentum with students and other groups of people from rest of the state starting taking out demonstrations and rallies. On the other hand, the police are gearing up to face any eventuality in the next few days to come and security has been tightened through out Telangana region in view of the Telangana agitation. Besides clamping Section 144 in all the districts of the Region the prohibitory orders have been enforced in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Sceunderabad. Additional platoons of Rapid Action Force have arrived in the state capital from even neighbouring states. Intense search operations are on to round up persons with criminal backtrack and students have been advised to vacate hostels as all colleges have declared holidays till 18th of this month. People also have been advised not to come to Hyderabad for next few days unless it is emergency. Special officers are also being posted at all sensitive places in the state.) M.S.
