In Andhra Pradesh, the indefinite strike by employees in the Telengana region on statehood issue entered second day on Wednesday. Demanding the centre to take steps in favour of separate state for Telengana, employees abstained from duties and held rallies and sit-in demonstrations at several places.Reports coming in from Telengana districts state that the administration in government offices were affected by the ongoing agitation. Coal production in Singareni Collories was disrupted with workers boycotting duties.The Telengana Political Joint action Committee has given the call for indefinite strike and the TRS, the BJP, the CPI and leaders of the Congress and the TDP expressed solidarity to the agitation. On the other hand, the state government once again appealed to the employees to give up their agitation as the statehood issue is being examined by the central government.
